PARPG Event - Runaway

Sometimes it isn't easy to integrate into a new group, especially one as small and ragtag as the one that Molly Flagstone operated. Some days their trainer worked so hard on menial tasks like cutting trees and clearing trails that Cane wondered if she remembered he was even there. On one or two unfortunate occasions, she had even tripped over him while he was sunbathing in an open patch of their land. The final straw had been Andica, now a majestic Sawsbuck, pushing him over a hillock by accident when she was foraging. Did nobody understand that trying to halt the momentum of a rolling geodude was akin to halting a boulder rocketing along at terminal velocity?? Cane, though made of stone, still felt bruised from the experience.

It was lucky that the tame Pidove, Bissel, had found him hunkering down in a tree as he mulled his options over. The little bird was not always the sharpest of their trio, but he could tell when someone else was having a crisis. The Pidove settled in right next to Cane and fluffed up, extending one wing over the Geodude's rocky back. For a long time, Cane didn't respond, but eventually he leaned in to the companionship. It was the first he'd had in a very long time.
